After arriving in Bombay on December 26, 1943, my relative left for Calcutta, to be assigned at the Bengal Air Depot, where today's orders assigned him to the 881st Signal Company.
Various orders came down for individuals mostly for varying travel in the CBI Theater. No doubt due to classified requirements, it was difficult to tell exactly where personnel were being sent. Some examples:
1. Temp duty to APO 885
2. Temp duty to Panagarh, India
3. Temp duty APO 884
4. Soldier change of unit
5. Soldiers transferred from 47th Dep Rep Sq to 3rd ADG
6. Soldiers assigned for mission pursuant to authority in Secraphone Message, provided with authority for frequent trips between the following named stations:
- Purbatipur, India
- Mokemah Ghat, India
- Lalmanir Hat, India
- Dhubri, India
